The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reportedly declared the 2021 Anambra Governorship Election as an inconclusive election.

This was made known by Professor Florence Obi who happens to be the Returning Officer of the election.

She made the declaration at the INEC head office in Awka, Anambra capital and according to her, the election could not end on the first ballot due to the fact that there was no voting in the Ihiala Local Government Area.

She added that before the election will be concluded a supplementary election will be held in Ihiala on Tuesday, November 9.

In her submission, she said;

“I, Prof. Florence Obi, with the power vested on me as the returning officer, hereby suspend the collation and announcement of any result until elections are conducted in 320polling units in the Ihiala local government. The supplementary election will take place on Tuesday 9th November.”
