David went to the British International School in Lagos before moving to Alabama at the age of 16.

He was born in the city of Atlanta in the state of Georgia. His father, Adedeji Adeleke, is a business magnate, while his mother, Vero Adeleke, is a college lecturer.
David is the youngest of five siblings and his father’s second-born son. While at Oakwood, he sold his musical system and began creating beats.

He also helped form the music group KB International with his cousins B-Red and Sina Rambo. Davido dropped out of Oakwood University to focus only on music and went to London to improve his vocals.
He halted his singing career after returning to Nigeria in 2011 and agreed to enroll at Babcock University to honor his father.
After his father funded the university to start a song department for an initial batch of one scholar, he graduated from Babcock with a diploma in music in July 2015.

Nigerian Entertainment Today reported on April 6, 2012, that Davido has secured a $30 million endorsement deal with MTN. He was named the face of MTN Pulse, a marketing and advertising campaign aimed at Nigerian teenagers, as part of the contract.
Guinness Nigeria had engaged Davido for an endorsement contract, according to Pulse Nigeria, on October 24, 2013.
As part of the contract, Davido performed an additional concert with P-Square, D’banj, Wizkid, Ice Prince, Burna Boy, Olamide, Phyno, Chidinma, Waje, and Tiwa Savage at the Guinness International.
